Boston Scientific

Latitude Mobile Application

BS ran a closed beta of their patient vital tracking app during a 12 week clinical trial for a heart value replacement implant. The implant would transmit real-time patient data -- HR, Breathing Rate, Body Temp etc;. to the mobile application via bluetooth. In combination with the patient contributed metrics, such as mood and daily activity -- this information was synced daily with a home base-station and transmitted directly to the patients cardiovascular team.

Aflac

Direct to Consumer Portal

Aflac is currently in the process of building a D2C portal that will allow customers to purchase a supplimental insurance plan online.

Using Aflacs user research and persona development, our team partnered with the Aflac digital product team to initial develop the "Happy-Path" for customers purchasing policies online. The workflow was constantly evolving over the course of the discovery design phase of the assignment. This workflow directly lead to the ability to begin whiteboard concepting and wireframing the page designs for the "Happy-Path" workflow.

Finally, the several design concepts were tested with a customer group, and a clear design direction was indentified and the Experience Design team began to design the workflow end-to-end designs -- ending in a presentation to senior leadership and quick signoff. The assignment continues and is expected to launch in Q2 of 2020.

Dunkin Donuts

Homepage Redesign & Mobile App UX

The initial project was a simple redesign of the homepage.

After working with the in-house design team, my team took over the Product Pages, Cart, Store Locator, Buy-flow and Checkout UX for their native mobile app.

Specialized Bikes

Downhill & Cross-Country Microsite

Very short lived microsite for Specialized Off-road Mountain Bikes. Four 3 week sprints to develop the Creative Brief, Strategic Direction, the Experience design and the visual layer. It was fast and furious but it was a fun challenge to have to work in a hackathon style for the entire 12 weeks! Collaborating with UX and Visual designers in two locations in NA and two locations in India provided the opportunity to utilize some interesting virtual collaboration tools and methods.

After consuming enough RedBull to kill a small elephant, the team was able to launch a property they can take great pride in.

Utah State Parks

Park Finder, Digital Trail Map & Mobile Orienteering App

Two weeks worth of conceptual work I whipped up for an RFP. State & National Parks across the country are slowly crawling their way into the twenty-first century. No longer will you have to deal with paper trail-maps that get lost, ripped, wet AND you can never fold them back together properly.

In the digital age everyone walks around the with a GPS device in their pocket (or wrist), parks are slowly discovering ways of integrating the digital and physical worlds. Installing park-wide open WIFI and encouraging hikers, bikers, and campers to upload pictures of wildlife, report washed out or blocked trails and report emergency situations. The inclusion of hikinh and biking GPS based maps to keep you on track and measure your pace, elevation change and integration with fitness trackers and Apple iWatch.

Crossfit Inspire

Re-Brand & Site Re-Design

Recently, I found a new home and new friends at CrossFit Inspire, which has filled a rather large hole in my life; one which had been growing in recent years. I drank to CrossFit coolaid a long time ago, so being able to reconnect with that part of myself has been enlightening.

The concept of community is the underlying and binding element within CrossFit that makes pushing yourself to the limit something you wake up every morning looking forward to; it's also the driving factor that spawns a desire to give back to that community. A refresh and new wesite was the positive contribution I could make.

HOMEPAGE DESIGN

Creating an experience which allows for quick site updates, allows members and new visitors find the information they are primarily here for was our priority when discussing the creative strategy and IA for the site. It also allowed for us to have a little fun too.

SCHEDULE & CLASSES

One of the core goals was selecting a platform which allows for frequent and simple updates: hello WordPress. Configuring & customizing that allows for users to see an accurate class schedule, and learning more about the specific classes CF Inspire offers.

A COUPLE OF WEEKS WITH

GOOGLE GLASS

There's no question that "wearables" — wearable technology — is leading the charge these days in the tech-world. Everyone and their grandmother is building a fitness tracking bracelet, or a "smart watch". So when my boss told me that our department shelled out the 1500 clams to get a pair of Google Glass, I was pretty excited. With my Innovation Sprint looming (mobile focused), I knew I wanted to get my paws on them, and play with Googles newest toy.

The very first thing I can tell you: they were a royal pain in the arse to get set up. However, after getting them setup, I realized that if I had been the first person to use them — setup would have been a piece of cake.

FACTORY RESET

And now we're in business. Sign into Google Account: Check. Bluetooth Connection with Nexus 4: Check. And now I'm seeing — literally — what everyone is talking about. They are pretty cool. And you feel like a total nerd with them on. Definitely be prepared to talk to everyone and anyone you encounter about them.

So after a couple of weeks of using them here & there — I will say they're a neat toy. I can see how this could be the start of something cool. Is it cool yet? No. Can I live without it? Definitely. Are they worth $1500? No chance. But, I have no doubt that Google will keep at this one, and maybe in a couple of years, when they are smaller, less obtrusive, wallet-friendly and more widely accepted — they'll be worth it. In the meantime, I'll laugh at people wearing them, while being slightly jealous at the same time.

CONCEPT

BLUETOOTH WIDGET

They say that Need is the Mother of invention. I know it's a lazy thing, but I can't stand having to go into settings on my phone in order to switch between Bluetooth sources. Why isn't there a widget for that? I can turn BT on from a widget, but not view, or select which Bluetooth source I want to connect with. I whipped up my BT Widget UI—flat, simple, usefull for the lazy, like me...

CONCEPT

Hydration Tracking App

I haven't been drinking enough water lately. How does one keep track of that kind of thing anyway? There must be an app for that...and I'm sure there is, but I thought it would be a fun exercise to put together a very fast little app concept.

Users are able to track their daily H2O consumption by sliding the H2O bar up/down the screen. Simple concept, simple UI, fun exercise.

URBN

My Account UX/UI Redesign

One of my first feature redesigns at URBN has been a complete tear down, discovery, and rework of the My Account section of UrbanOutfitters.com. User Definition, Objectives & Scenarios, followed by Competitive Review/Analysis informed and set of Workflows, which lead to a series of initial whiteboard sketches, followed by UI wireframes workup.

Clear Coat

Mechanical Diagram

I threw together a quick mechanical illustration as part of the packaging design and a series of step-by-step diagrams for the installation instructions for Clear Coat phone protector.

Social Media Headquarters

Branding & Site Design

Social Media HQ was a startup social media consulting and online reputation management firm based in Philly. The branding execution ended up being a short, fun and creative exercise, where I split my design team into pairs, and threw absurdly short sprints at them, as a strategy for trying to squeeze some creativity out of them. The results were mixed, however I came up with a fun and playful concept for their brand, which we transformed into a simple brochure site.

Vine Street Imports

Website Design

I put together a very quick re-design for Vine Street Imports prior to leaving AYC Media in 2012—which include some slightly-more complex interactions, as users were able to search for specific wines by counry, region and winery.

Windrift Hotel

Paralax Homepage

Several years ago I headed up the design team working on a new Website for the Windrift Hotel. Part of the approved design was an immersive paralax-scrolling homepage.
